About our program
Alokit is leading a ‘District Education Leadership Program (DELP)’ in collaboration with the Department of School Education, Narayanpet, to ensure that children from primary schools receive quality education and achieve the desired FLN outcomes. DELP aims to address implementation challenges, identify gaps, and prioritize areas that can significantly improve FLN outcomes.
Position Summary
As a Program Lead, the individual will be responsible for working closely with district administration (DEO and other district officials) in providing expert-level strategic support to district resources (especially the District FLN Nodal Officers, Complex Head Masters, Subject Resource Persons, and the Academic Monitoring Officer) to enhance the processes and strengthen existing structures to improve student’s learning outcomes in achieving foundational literacy and numeracy.
The individual will also be responsible for supporting the team of program managers. Additionally, the program lead will directly support a few school leaders. The program lead will work closely with the
senior leadership team to strengthen the on-ground operations to ensure the effective execution of the program.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual with experience in training and mentoring adults and working with senior government officials. There will be multiple learning and growth opportunities within the organization for the candidate’s professional development.
The program lead should be comfortable with traveling and supporting program managers during their school visits across the district based on the needs of the program.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Project Planning
- Develop project plans, outlining goals, objectives, timelines, and required resources. Assist in developing on-site support protocols, tools, and materials tailored to the specific needs of relevant stakeholders.
- Liaise with government officials and regularly update them on the program's progress. Identify ground-level trends, discuss them with relevant stakeholders, and design and execute a strategic plan.
Building Relationships
- Build and foster relationships and collaboration to ensure effective support for all stakeholders. Coaching, Training and Development
- Serve as a coach to Subject Resource Persons, and the Academic Monitoring Officer. This role also involves school visits, phone calls, and email communication.
- Facilitate training sessions for all stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of the training sessions.
- Ensure that governance structures like review meetings, mentoring systems, and continuous professional development of various stakeholders function well in the district.
Designing Curriculum
- Provide instructional and operational support to the Curriculum team as per the project. Offer strategic input on the development of Alokit's curriculum.
- Ensure that the curriculum content aligns with the needs of the stakeholders.
Reporting and Data Analysis
- Conduct field visits to understand program/field gaps and bridge them by providing support to district officials.
- Analyze district-level data, identify trends, and prepare an action plan.
- Collaborate with the M&E team to ensure program evaluation, data collation, and analysis to capture long-term impact.
- Document the quantitative and qualitative impact/outcomes of DELP interventions for each leadership level.
- Prepare reports and document the achievements and challenges of the district education leadership program.
Leadership
- Delegate tasks effectively to both internal and external team members.
- Lead a team of 6-7 members. Support and quality assure the work of the Program Managers to ensure a positive, developmental experience for all stakeholders throughout the program.
Program Implementation
- Ensure planning and execution of deliverables on stipulated timelines.
- Identify the support required at all levels of leadership to improve the teaching and learning process.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required, preferably a Master’s Degree in Education Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience, at least two years classroom teaching experience through fellowships like TFI, Bhumi is preferred.
- Experience working with government officials/departments is preferred
- Experience in managing a team would be an added advantage
- Telugu-speaking candidates would be preferred
